Welcome to the Programme

The Work Placement Programme is an integral part of several academic programmes in our School of Computing at The National College of Ireland.

These include the B.Sc. in Business Information Systems, B.Sc. in Computing, Higher Diploma in Computing in Software Development and Higher Diploma in Web Technologies.

The student learns to develop the practical competencies and communication skills necessary to function as a team member in the work place. Many of the skills employers are looking for can only be learned in real time work experience. It is not just about knowing information but when and how it is applied. As such the placement component is an important element in the ongoing development of the student.

We also welcome interest from Employers who wish to discuss summer or graduate internships for students from other disciplines.
