Technology continues to shape the world we live in. Graduates who understand how technology can drive the world of business are always in demand. This course provides you a highly valuable combination of business and IT skills and gives you lots of opportunities in organisations that seek to connect both worlds.

The course has a flexible structure with a number of elective modules that allows you to specialise and enhance your skills and knowledge on particular aspects from both IT and business areas.

  • Be able to solve and manage business problems though knowledge on the latest   business software tools.
  • Recognise how technology is vital in today’s information led society.

Course Structure and Award

This course is a three year ordinary degree. The course is run over 6 semesters with continuous assessment held throughout the course and examinations at the end of each semester. On completion you will receive a HETAC BA (Ordinary) Degree in Computing at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Additional Information

This programme includes preparation and training for SAP certification, which is the most important Enterprise Resource Planning tool.

Career Prospects

As the course covers both business and technology, graduates could be employed in leading organisations in the business and/or information technology domains. As a graduate from this course you can seek employment opportunities in consulting, technical management, systems design, development, sales, project management, employee relations, human resource management and training.

Further Study Options

Upon successful completion of the BA (Ordinary) in Management of Technology in Business, graduates can complete an extra year to be awarded a BA (Honours) in Technology Management at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Who is the Programme for?

The course is for school leavers, mature students and graduates of FETAC level 5/6 programmes.

Entry Requirements

Minimum entry requirements are a grade D3 at ordinary level Maths or Foundation level B2, a pass in English and three other subjects.
