For Part-Time Applications please use our Online Application Forms or you can request an application form to be posted to you along with some of our brochures. Full-Time applications need to be submitted via the CAO unless you are a mature student in which case you can use the downloadable application form for part time and full time students.

6. How can I pay?

Part Time students can pay in a number of ways;

Pay a 20% deposit for the course and sign up to our easy payment plan. The remainder of the fees can be made in monthly installments through direct debit.

or

Pay 50% before commencement of the course in September and the remainder at Christmas.

A 20% deposit must be made within two weeks of receiving an offer in order to secure your place(up to 55 days from the start date of the programme).This deposit is deductible from the total course fee.  You must have paid a minimum of 50% prior to course commencement with the exception of short programmes where 100% payment is due in advance.

Method of payment: Credit card / Debit Card – not American Express (call 01 44 98 566/569 – Fees Office), cheque, bank draft or postal order

8. What are the minimum entry requirements?

Postgraduate Programmes

Code Course TitleEntry Requirement
MQP Masters Qualifying Programme Degree in any discipline. Work experience in the financial services industry would be beneficial but is not essential
MAFI MA in Finance The normal requirement is an honours Bachelors Degree (minimum level: 2nd class honours) in a cognate field of study, or graduates from the Masters Qualifying Programme who receive an average of 55%. In addition, candidates will be expected to have worked for a minimum of 2 years.
MAHRM MA in HRM Applicants who have successfully completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in Human Research Management. Students must have successfully completed and passed al the requirement of the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in HRM.
MSLT MSc in Learning Technologies A Higher Diploma in e-Learning (Minimum 2nd class honours) or a level 8 award in a cognate area.
HDBHRM Higher Diploma in Business in Human Resource Management A Bachelors Degree at Level 8
Or - Membership of an approved professional body which awards a degree equivalent qualification award.
HDBT Higher Diploma in Business in e-Business A Level 8 degree in business or technology or equivalent and at least three years practical experience in industry.
HDSCE Higher Diploma in Science in Computing in eLearning A pass degree or equivalent and at least three years practical experience in teaching, industry or information technology.

Minimum requirements are grade C3 in two higher level papers, together with grade D3 (at higher or ordinary level) in four other subjects of the Leaving Certificate Examination. A minimum of grade D3 must be obtained in English and Mathematics at either higher or ordinary level. Leaving Certificate Accounting is not an entry requirement. Transfer and mature students are eligible to apply for this programme through direct application only.
BAHFINSE BA (Hons) in Financial Services - Evening  This is a part-time programme designed to appeal to those already working. As a result, entry to the programme will be considered on the applicant's individual merits and experience. Applicants may be granted exemptions. Exemptions will only be considered during the application process.
BAHHRF BA (Hons) in HRM BA in HRM (Level 7) or The National Diploma in Personnel Management or equivalent qualification. Graduate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD).
BAHRM BA in Human Resource Management This is a part-time programme designed to appeal to those already working. As a result, entry to the programme will be considered on the applicant's individual merits and experience. Applicants may be granted exemptions. Exemptions will only be considered during the application process.
BAHRMF BA in Human Resource Management [distance learning] This is a part-time programme designed to appeal to those already working. As a result, entry to the programme will be considered on the applicant's individual merits and experience. Applicants may be granted exemptions. Exemptions will only be considered during the application process.
BBHRM Bachelor of Business in Human Resource Management A Higher Certificate in Business Studies or non-business degree or an equivalent qualification.

HCC Higher Certificate in Computing Applications & Support Academic prerequisites for entry to the course are Leaving Certificate with a minimum of D3 at ordinary level in Mathematics, English, and three other subjects.
FETAC level 2 awards are accepted. People over 23 without the required academic qualifications may be accepted depending on work experience. For other qualifications to be acceptable they must be of an approved academic standard.
HCCE Higher Certificate in Computing Applications & Support - [part-time Evening] Transfer and mature students are eligible to apply for this course through direct application only.
NCCVS NCI Cert in Managing Organisations in the Voluntary Sector A minimum of one year experience in the voluntary or community sector.
HECTUS HETAC Certificate in Business Studies in Trade Union Studies Applicants apply through their Union (ie IMPACT, SIPTU, ICTU, IBEC).
OLMT NCI Certificate in Managing Teams Designed for mature students with work experience. Applicants are not required to have any previous academic qualifications. The Course director and a member of the IT Department view all applications.
CFLMD  Certificate in First Line Management - Day Release As this programme is designed for people who are or have been, in employment, academic qualifications are generally not necessary. As a result, entry to the programme will be considered on the applicant's individual merits and experience.
CFLM Certificate in First Line Management- [Evening] As this programme is designed for people who are or have been, in employment, academic qualifications are generally not necessary. As a result, entry to the programme will be considered on the applicant's individual merits and experience.

9. Can I gain Exemptions with my current qualification / work experience?

Exemptions are granted on a case by case basis. To be considered for exemptions an applicant must send copies of their results of their original qualification with their application or describe in detail their work experience. The programme director will then decide which subjects they will be exempt from.

10. I have a current NCI Diploma can I gain exemptions in another course?

Holders of past NCI diplomas will gain entry to year 2 of the Higher Certificate in Business Studies however bridging studies will be required. The bridging studies is usually carried during the first semester and is not a pre-requisite for initial entry onto the course.

12. Can I apply for the Area Based Partnership Courses?

NCI has established this scheme in co-operation with the Area-Based Partnership companies in order to promote access to education more broadly.

NCI offer up to 10% of places on HETAC-accredited full-time Degree and Certificate programmes to students who fulfil the criteria below.

 Who can apply?

  • Students living in an Area-Based Partnership Area.
  • Students whose family income depends on social welfare payments.
  • Students who meet the minimum HETAC entry requirements for the programme they are applying for.

How do I apply?

  • Contact the relevant Area Based Partnership Officer to confirm eligibility. Further details can be obtained by contacting the admissions office on 1850 221 721.
  • Once eligibility is confirmed and you meet all above criteria you should apply through CAO.
  • Apply using the relevant course code (see below)

13. Do I qualify as a mature student, if so how do I apply?

If you are 23 years of age on or before 1 January in the year of application you qualify as a mature student for admission .You must apply directly to the college before 30th June for all full-time programmes.

14. Can I apply to NCI if I completed an LCVP Leaving Certificate?

Yes applications for full time courses should be made through the CAO further information can be found at www.cao.ie

15. I already have a FETAC award, how do I apply to NCI?

Applicants with a FETAC full level 5 or 6 award (NCVA Level 2), can apply for full time studies at National College of Ireland. The minimum entry requirements are as follows:
