Biography Michael Barry is Dean and Senior Lecturer in Industrial Relations and Sociology with National College of Ireland, where he has lectured for the past 28 years. Prior to that, Michael worked as a management consultant in London. He was educated in Brunel University (London), and holds a BSc in Sociology and MA in Sociology and Law. Michael is a member of the Irish Institute of Training & Development, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Trustee of the Industrial Relations Research Trust.

Michael is a knowledgeable and credible commentator in the field of industrial relations and on workplace matters in general. He has been a guest on various television and radio programmes including Morning Ireland, TV-am, Newstalk, the BBC and various local radio stations. He has provided comment for the Sunday Times, Sunday Independent, Sunday Business Post, Sunday Tribune, Irish Independent and The Irish Times.

He has also acted as advisor to many professional, voluntary and other organisations. For the past 20 years he has, in addition, been an active worker in the voluntary sector.
