Biography Dr. T.J. McCabe specialises in Human Resource Management, Employee Relations, Human Resource Development, Applied aspects of People Management and Research Methods. He holds a Ph.D in Employee Relations and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Research Methods from the University of Plymouth, Devon and a BA Hons in Business Studies from the University of Stirling. He is a strong and knowledgeable commentator on Strategic Human Resource Management and Employee Relations. He has a particular interest in health and the public sector and has conducted extensive research examining the unique human resource management issues in the health sector in Ireland, the U.K. and Europe.
Prior to working at the National College of Ireland T.J. has worked as a Research Officer for the Department of Public Health, a Vocational Specialist for Bronx Comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services in New York and an Academic Assistant for the Open University in Scotland.

T.J. has worked with a wide range of learners – including executives – and he creates an exciting and engaging learning environment. As well as teaching, he has published several papers in both academic and practitioner journals. He has provided comment for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, The Sunday Times and The Irish Independent. He has also been a guest on Newstalk.
