Full-Time Student Applications
Applications for all full-time courses should be made to the Central Applications Office (CAO), Tower House, Eglington Street, Galway before 1 February. The CAO handbook gives details of application dates and procedures. Website: www.cao.ie
Transfer Students
Transfer Students may apply to all NCI full-time day programmes directly to the College by May 30th, please contact Admission Dept. for further details: Tel 1850 221 721
Non Standard Applicants
Up to 20% of places on all full-time day courses are reserved for nonstandard applicants (mature students, transfer students), at the discretion of the College. Mature applicants must apply to the college before 31st July 2012.
FETAC Students
Students with FETAC Awards must apply through the CAO system
NCI welcome's PLC students who are presenting FETAC (NCVA level 2) awards. Such applicants are assessed separately from ALL other applicants and do not have to meet minimum entrance requirements based on leaving certificate results.
International Applicants
NCI welcomes applications from overseas students who satisfy the appropriate admission requirements. A certificate of competence in English is required. For further details please go to International Students
Physical Access
NCI has adapted its premises to the needs of students with disabilities. Students should indicate the nature and degree of their requirements to the College in order to ensure that their needs can be catered for adequately.
Deferred Entry
A student who has been offered a place may defer acceptance for one year under certain circumstances deemed appropriate by the College. Applications for deferrals will not be considered after the end of the first term, except in extenuating circumstances. In relation to CAO courses, the College operates a policy in common with other third-level institutions. Further information can be gained in the CAO handbook or the CAO website.
Recognition of Prior Experential Learning (RPEL)
Applicants who wish to apply for entry to a programme for which they may not necessarily meet the minimum entry requirements can apply to the College under the RPEL policy.
