Job Description

Instructional Designers - Learning Technologists

Reporting to:  Director, Centre for Research and Innovation in Learning and Teaching, (CRILT).

Purpose of Position:  

To participate in a panel of Instructional Designers and Learning Technologists who will develop flexible learning objects for NCI’s new technology enhanced learning strategy – known as Flexible Learning Programmes.  The aim of this strategy is to enhance and develop a number of NCI’s traditional programmes by means of blended learning delivery.   

Working as part of a team with course developers and subject matter experts, successful candidates will be responsible for the design and production of e-learning components. This will involve the use of multimedia technology and authoring tools. Candidates will be able to produce outputs within agreed timeframes and resource allocations.

This role would particularly suit those with an e-learning background – experienced in areas such as instructional design, graphic design, web development and/or multimedia production.

This is a casual position and hours will vary dependant on project needs.

  • Director of Centre for Research & Innovation in Learning and Teaching.

  • Manager of Centre for Research & Innovation in Learning and Teaching.

  • Programme Director and Programme Faculty

Key Responsibilities & Attributes:   

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in education and/or Instructional design or a related field or minimum of 3 years relevant experience in e-learning.

  • Experience in training/curriculum development desirable.

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Ability to project manage, work on own initiative and produce results to defined timescales and project parameters.

  • Knowledge and experience in related fields such as learning technologies, interface design and interactive software would also be an advantage.

  • Excellent oral, written communication and visual skills.

Hourly rate:    €35 per hour. This is a casual position and hours per week vary dependent on project needs.
