  • Cognitive neuropsychology, cognitive ageing, psychology of ageing, social determinants of health, loneliness, health behaviours; social epidemiology 

Recent Funding

  • 2015: Co-applicant on IRC-funded COASTAL Project investigating Characteristics of Older Adult Loneliness in rural regions
  • 2014: awarded CARDI Leadership in Ageing Research Fellowship to conduct research into social determinants of cognitive ageing in Ireland, North & South.
  • 2018: "Loneliness and Health: The Moderating Role of Befriending Services." Funding Body: Health Research Board - Applied Partnership Awards. Grant application: €160,000 (awarded). Role: Co-applicant. (With Dr. Paul Hanly).
  • 2018: Co-applicant on City of San Francisco District 8 Preparatory Budget for a study entitled:“multimodal inter generational social contact initiative”. Grant award: $22,000. (PI Dr Phaedra Bell UCSF)
