Collections and Borrowings

Lending Collection

The lending collection contains the major part of the library's book collection. These books may be borrowed by students and staff.

Fines
Main Lending €1 per book per day (or part thereof)
Desk Reserve €1 per book per hour (or part thereof)

If books are returned late a fine must be paid.


Online Resources

The online resources consist of a collection of ejournals, ebooks and databases. The majority of these can be accessed both on and off campus once you have internet access.


Desk Reserve Collection (blue strip)

These are books that are in very heavy demand, and are kept at the Library Services Desk. They can be borrowed for two hours only but can not be taken outside the library.


Journal Collection

These are publications, which appear at regular intervals - perhaps weekly, or monthly. Journals and newspapers may NOT be borrowed. 


Thesis Collection

The Library holds theses completed by faculty and students as part of their fulfilment for a degree or post graduate studies. A list of these may be obtained at the Library Service Desk.


Reprint Collection

The library holds photocopies of articles and notes recommended by lecturers.
These may NOT be borrowed but can be photocopied for personal use.



Careers Information (black strip)

This collection comprises of college prospectuses, postgraduate information, material on careers and interview preparation and associated fields. As Careers Information is frequently consulted, it cannot be borrowed.
