Unlocking potential and creating opportunities for students to gain experience outside the traditional academic arena is a key focus for National College of Ireland. To that end, we have developed a comprehensive range of initiatives to recognise and encourage student leadership and involvement in all aspects of college life.

Academic Wall of Excellence

Our Academic Wall of Excellence recognises and awards academic excellence at National College of Ireland. Each year the student who achieves the highest overall grade from each year of study receives an award honouring his/her academic achievement.

Wall of Fame

The Wall of Fame commemorates students who have demonstrated leadership, innovation and determination while at college. The Wall of Fame also recognises students of outstanding sporting ability who have been awarded sports scholarships at National College of Ireland.

Peer Mentor Programme

The Peer Mentor Programme is designed to help new students settle into college life by providing signposting and assistance through peer support. Peer Mentors are volunteer undergraduate students in their second or third year who have participated in formal training to equip them for their role. Peer Mentors are usually matched with a small group of first year students from their own school, and where possible, from the same course.
