STEM Stretch Family Learning Programme

A variety of home-based learning activities that aim to support children’s early literacy, numeracy, language, and social/emotional development, in fun and interactive ways. The programme hopes to foster and encourage a love of learning, language, play and books.

COVID-19 and closure of schools and services highlighted the need for more direct parental engagement and home-based programmes to support children’s learning. The Stretch STEM Family Learning Programme aims to upskill parents as home educators and adopt a blended learning approach through regular phone/video contact; eLearning programmes; home learning packs as well as access to online learning resources and services.

The aim of the programme is to ensure that the parents whose children we have supported through their early years of education will have the confidence, understanding, skills and knowledge to continue to support their children’s education in this new ever-changing situation in which home learning is more critical than ever.
