As part of the Student Support Team, the purpose of this role includes;
- Monitoring Clubs and society activity within the college from high performance level to recreational activity.
- Point of contact for Students Union with regard to SLA.
- Support in delivering college Orientations, the Student Survey, and College Graduations.
- Develop engagement and retention initiatives to help student to continue in their programme.
- Run college-wide monitoring systems and appropriate policies for dealing with non-engaged students.
- Coordinate college campaigns around retention and engagement
- Contribute to pastoral care, counselling and related services for student well-being.
- Contribute to actions, policies and strategies to enhance student engagement, retention and progression.

Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and tracking of college withdrawals.
- Reporting on college withdrawals and retention.
- Directly contact at-risk students identified through student monitoring systems to ensure they are connected with relevant supports.
- Coordinate and deliver the College Orientation Programme
- Support Registry with Student Disciplinary and Appeals Process
- Assist with the College Graduation ceremonies and ball.
- Assist with Student Survey.
- Administer the Laptop Loan Scheme.
- Administer the HEAR scheme for NCI.
- Oversee Clubs and Societies.
- Administer Sports Scholarships.
- Engage with all sporting Governing Bodies at the third level.
- Coordinate the annual Clubs and Societies awards and formal ball.
- Coordinate the Student Success and maintain SharePoint page
- Support with delivery of student attendance and engagement initiatives.
- Day to day information hub duties including Zendesk
- Assist with all Student Support and Welfare campaigns
- Such other activities as may be required to support the Student Services Department
- Monitor and update Student Services webpage
Key Attributes / Competencies:
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to take responsibility and work autonomously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in third level education and working with students, faculty and related staff
- A qualification in education/learning & teaching or related field is desirable
- Excellent administrative, IT, teamwork and organisational skills
- High level of competency in multi-tasking, prioritising and problem solving
- Ability to be flexible and to be available outside of standard working hours
- A professional, autonomous and collegiate disposition

Shortlisting
HR draft up the shortlisting documents and provide the initial screening to determine if a person meets the essential criteria of the competition. A shortlisting panel is generally made up of two senior grade staff members from the relevant department for which the role is being recruited.
Sharing of your data
Where you have been successfully shortlisted for a post, each interview panel member will be furnished with a copy of the relevant information of those who will be attending interview in order that they can review applications in advance of the interview process. All such information will be returned to NCI and shredded following the competition process. Some of the interview panel will be external interviewers, who are not employees of NCI but are engaged for the purpose and are strictly subject to the rules and policies of the College.
