Full-Time Registration and Orientation

Congratulations on your recent offer from National College of Ireland. In order to get you ready for the new academic year please ensure you read the Registration Booklet. In it you will find information about accepting your place, registering online, receiving your IT login details and enrolment dates.

Please note you must register online before your enrolment date.

Step 1 - Student Log In Details

Before registering for your course you first need to login to your NCI account and set your password.

You do this on the Password Management section of the website.

The Setting your Password guide will give you a step-by-step guide through this process.

Step 2 - Register & Pay Course Fees

Please make sure you register online before the enrolment date of your course.

Please ensure you have your Registration Booklet, IT login details and credit/debit card to hand before you start this process.

Enrolment dates can be found under the "Course Enrolment,Orientation & Start Dates" below.

Below you will find links to any documentation you may need as part of the registration process. Please print this off and return it in the manner outlined in the Registration Booklet.

Issues logging in?

- Please remember your username is x followed directly by your student number i.e. x1710000

- If you are having further difficulty with your login details please contact the IT helpdesk quoting your student name and number to itsupport@ncirl.ie and let us know what error message you are getting or send a screenshot and a member of the Helpdesk Team will get back to you.

Step 3 - Getting Your Student Card

Provided you have paid your fees, you will be given your student card at your enrolment session.

If you do not receive your card at your enrollment session, you will be able to collect it at the enrollment room (during specific times) for the month of September.

For any issues regarding your student card or if you lose it, the Student Services team will be happy to help.

Step 4 - Course Enrolment,Orientation & Start Dates

You can view your course timetable at any stage online by using the dedicated timetable section of the website.

Simply search for your course then choose your week & day range.

Course & Assignements

Programme Co-ordinators administer the daily management of all courses in the college.  The school administration offices are located in Room 3.03 on the 3rd floor.   Please follow signs provided.

The programme co-ordinators can help you with course information, queries around timetables and any issues or concerns you may have while completing your studies with NCI.  You will be assigned a specific programme co-ordinator depending on your course of study.

All students should enrol on the School of Business or School of Computing information page on Moodle. Here you will find all required details for your programme such as your Programme Director, Programme Co-ordinator, Continual Assessment schedule and Programme Handbook.

Library Services

The Library have a range of services and supports and you can find all information on the NCI library page.


Starting out – as a new student, the best place to find the information you need to know is the basics guide.

Finding books – once you start looking at your reading lists, you’ll need to know how to find a book in the library; this guide will show you how.

Library guides – after you have got to grips with the basics, there are plenty more library guides to help.

Online resources – the library has lots of online resources that you can use for your studies and to find information you can use for your assignments

Referencing and plagiarism when writing your assignments, you will be asked to reference the information you use and avoid plagiarism; this guide helps you to better understand what’s required.

Library Help Centre the library also has a designated department to help you when tackling your assignments.

International students If you are an international student, you may find adjusting to college life here a little more challenging; this guide is designed to help you make that adjustment.

Support For You

In the Learning and Teaching Office you will find the Student Support team who are available to help you in a variety of areas. Through their “Getting to Grips” sessions, they will help you with academic support. You will also find the Disability Support service here who can provide learning, assistive technology, exam support and more.

If you need any help while in NCI drop into the Learning and Teaching Office beside reception, the team are always happy to offer a listening ear, have a chat or they can link you with the college counsellor and medical service.


Students Union - Get Involved

The Students’ Union is your voice in the college. Whether it’s issues concerning your course or the college entertainments, student welfare, clubs & societies or entertainments, the Executive team represent all NCI students and provide support for any problems you face throughout your time here.

The SU space is one of the social hubs of college. A great place to relax, here you’ll find pool tables, games consoles, casual seating space and the Executive offices. Events are held throughout the year and all students are encourages to get involved.
