National College of Ireland, 1951-2026

National College of Ireland has a long history of driving innovation, supporting societal change and widening access to education. 

Over the past seven decades, NCI has played a distinctive role in higher education in Ireland, particularly in serving learners from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds, supporting part-time and adult learners, responding rapidly to labour market needs, and contributing to economic and social development through education, research, and enterprise.

2026 is a milestone year for National College of Ireland as we mark the 75th anniversary of the College. Here’s to a year of connection, reflection, and celebration!

President's Brunch
The President's Brunch, hosted by NCI President, Professor Gina Quin, was a fitting way to honour our past, celebrate our present and look confidently to the future. We look forward to a full programme of events and updates throughout 2026 that will bring our community together.
Official Launch of Spencer Dock
On Friday 6th March 2026, Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD and Minister for Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless TD, officially opened our Spencer Dock campus building.
