Pop-up Garda station at NCI 11am-2pm Thursdays September 11 & 25

National College of Ireland announced in July that the College will host a community support desk, operated by An Garda Síochána at NCI Mayor Square.

As part of our ongoing cooperation with An Garda SÍochana and commitment to community engagement and public safety, pop-up Garda Station will be operating on a rotational basis in the Docklands area over the coming months.

Starting from Friday, July 18th, members of the community can avail of this service twice each month from 11am-2pm, moving to every second Thursday

This initiative is a welcome development and is expected to be of great benefit to students, staff, and the wider community.

National College of Ireland is committed to promoting safety and security in the area. The College, in collaboration with the North Wall Business, Community Watch, and the DCC Docklands Oversight Forum, took part in discussions with the Assistant Garda Commissioner and the Superintendent at Store Street Garda Station to address concerns around providing local supports in the greater Docklands area. These conversations proved to be highly engaging and productive, leading to this pop-up initiative being developed.

The pop-up Garda Station is a convenient opportunity for residents, workers, and visitors to engage with the local Community Policing Team, report an incident if needed, enquire about general concerns and queries, and receive advice.
