Free Computing Taster Course

This free one-hour session shows you what to expect from the full 12-week online Certificate in Science in Computing, a Government-funded programme starting in December.

Welcome to this one-hour taster session for the Certificate in Science in Computing with National College of Ireland.

While the full 12-week online programme is aimed at beginners who have an interest in computing but are limited on time, this taster session will give you an idea of both the style of the pre-recorded videos and of the area of Java Programming. This will help you to make an informed decision as to whether or not this course is for you.

The Certificate in Science in Computing is a Government-funded course that gives learners the flexibility to engage with recorded content outside of class time, which cuts down on scheduled evening hours and allows class times to be more practical.

Note: We recommend undertaking this course on a laptop or desktop rather than on a phone. Coding needs a keyboard and the videos are best viewed in full screen.
