Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background:
I am a Marketing Executive working at Agile Executives Limited. I completed my Master’s in Marketing in 2023 from NCI. I have a background in engineering, but my passion for creativity and communication led me to shift to marketing nearly six years ago. Since then, I have been involved in various marketing roles, gaining experience in digital campaigns, content creation, and event management.
What was your most memorable experience from your time at NCI?
I enjoyed working on real-world projects, such as going to supermarkets and interviewing people, or participating in interactive classroom sessions. As someone new to the country, these activities gave me both the courage and an opportunity to talk to strangers, which helped me build confidence and adapt to a new environment.
How did you hear about your role?
I was hired at Agile Executives as an intern, and I came across the opportunity through the weekly or bi-weekly emails from NCI’s Careers Office. It was one of those emails that led me to apply.
What did the recruitment and selection process involve and how did you prepare for it?
There were two interview rounds, and I had to submit a few samples of previous projects I had worked on, including the real-time projects I completed during my Master’s. I also reviewed my past work and research on the company to ensure I was well-prepared.
What is a typical day like in your current role?
My day usually starts with reviewing ongoing marketing campaigns and checking lead generation performance. I manage our website content, schedule and publish posts on LinkedIn, and coordinate email campaigns from planning to execution and reporting. I also work closely with the team to support event planning, prepare marketing materials, and ensure our brand messaging is consistent across all channels. Every day is different, which keeps my role dynamic and engaging.
What do you like most about working in your current role or profession?
I enjoy the opportunity to interact with many senior executives, such as CEOs and COOs across Ireland, which allows me to learn from their experiences and perspectives. I also appreciate the freedom to explore new ideas, learn new tools, and implement fresh strategies in our campaigns.
What are your Top 3 tips for current students and graduates who are looking to enter the job market in Ireland?
1. Attend job fairs: you never know when you might meet the right person with the right connections.
2. Keep an eye on all communications from your college administration, as they often share internship or job opportunities you might not find elsewhere.
3. Search for jobs on LinkedIn to discover opportunities, but apply directly through the company’s website for a better chance of your application being noticed.
