About Karen Jones
Karen joined NCI in August 2019 as NCI’s Director of Quality and Institutional Effectiveness. Karen became NCI’s Registrar in January 2022 following three months as Registrar-Designate. Karen has experience of working in eight universities in the UK, Ireland, the Middle East and New Zealand over the last 29 years, wherein Karen designed and implemented quality assurance and improvement structures at a programme, institutional and national level. Karen has been involved in the development of several student feedback systems including the National Student Surveys in the UK and Ireland. Over the last ten years, she has participated in peer reviews of programmes, institutions and national QA agencies.
Karen is a member of the NCI Executive Team, contributes to the design, monitoring and achievement of NCI’s strategic goals; and is responsible for driving a culture of continuous quality improvement and institutional effectiveness across NCI. Karen is overseeing the co-design, implementation and impact of the Streamline Student Success Structures Initiative, designed to enhance the quality and consistency of student and staff experiences, and drive institutional effectiveness.
