Purpose of Position:

To facilitate the work carried out every day on the College premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to any issues that arise on the Premises. And assist in sorting out the issue.
  • Ensure that all College rooms are presentable.
  • Sort post and parcels distribute the post to the relevant people.
  • Ensure appropriate set up of classrooms to include desks are straight, clean white boards flip charts in all rooms, this must be done each day.
  • Appropriate set up for events, exams, and meeting rooms.
  • Stock up and maintain staff rooms on the 2nd,3rd, and 4th floors.
  • Milk to be dropped up to 4th staffroom and replaced when needed. 
  • Attend to College recycling/bailer and waste management, 
  • Assist with all office moves and movement of furniture
  • Cleaning duties as requested by the premises supervisor
  • Ensure all fire exits are always maintained and kept clear 
  • Maintain external areas around the campus, research building and mocha deck each day.
  • Check balconies to ensure they are clean and tidy. Power hosed when requested.
  • Responsibility for the upkeep of the Quad and designated smoking areas 
  • Understand and comply with H&S procedures and requirements
  • Light maintenance duties as requested.
  • Unblock toilets when required.
  • Deliver & collect items from Gandon House and AIG when required.
  • Check and clean fans in security office.
  • Assign staff lockers and control keys 
  • Morning shift rooms need to be opened/ evening shift rooms need to locked. (Depending on which shift you are working)  

Training Courses:

  • Manual Handling course.
  • 1st Aid Training
  • Fire Warden

Key Attributes: 

  • Must be Honest, Punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Must be a hands-on worker.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Well presented.
  • Can use their own unitive.
  • Knowledge of PC skills would be an advantage.

Salary:

€23,297 - €34,685 (Support Salary band)

Annual Leave: 

24 days per annum pro rata

Hours:

39 hours per week as per rota based over 5 days per week, weekend work will be required from time to time. NCI operate a day shift 7.00am - 3.30pm and evening shift   2.30pm - 11.00pm. These times are subject to change due to Covid

People who are directly employed by NCI and are based in Ireland process all the personal data collected for both recruitment and HR purposes.

Shortlisting

HR draft up the shortlisting documents and provide the initial screening to determine if a person meets the essential criteria of the competition. A shortlisting panel is generally made up of two senior grade staff members from the relevant department for which the role is being recruited.

Sharing of your data

Where you have been successfully shortlisted for a post, each interview panel member will be furnished with a copy of the relevant information of those who will be attending interview in order that they can review applications in advance of the interview process. All such information will be returned to NCI and shredded following the competition process. Some of the interview panel will be external interviewers, who are not employees of NCI but are engaged for the purpose and are strictly subject to the rules and policies of the College.

Access

Applicants can request and receive access to their data at any time and can request and receive a copy of this data, in electronic/transferable format.

Erasure

Applicants can request the data held be erased. In this case, the application for a position is considered withdrawn.

Rectification
