Ctrl-Alt-Compete - NCI’s TY Summer Camp for Girls

Event date: 14/07/2025 10:30 - 18/07/2025 15:30 Export to calendar

Female secondary school students eager to explore the world of coding can sign up for NCI's TY summer camp ‘Ctrl-Alt-Compete'.

This 5-day camp will take place on-campus at NCI and we will be delving into the MakeCode coding environment for the micro:bit, a tiny pocket sized device that allows students to get hands-on and creative with coding and digital making.

During the week, students will also hear talks from guest speakers on topics related to computing and compete to create the most innovative solution to real-world scenarios. The week will culminate in prize giving and all students will receive a certificate of participation.

The camp is completely free. Whether you're curious about computing or keen to learn new technologies with college lecturers, book your place today by filling out the form below! No prior experience necessary.

Computing is a male-dominated field, this summer camp is designed to address the gender imbalance in this subject at third-level.
