    • Responsible for commissioning equipment up to IR£25 million
    • From initial employee appointment to first delivery of product within three months.

  • Dakota Packaging Ltd., Dublin. Position: Operations/Human Resource Manager. Staff: 155. Turnover: 8.5 million
    • Multi site operation in the packaging industry
    • 5 full time managers reporting to me with combined staff of 145.
    • Responsible for all Personnel and HR issues.
    • Reported to Managing Director and main board.
    • Played key role in the introduction of WCM techniques.
    • Formulated budgets for capital and labour.
    • Negotiated and communicated with 5 unions covering staffs in my control area.
    • Totally reorganised the Production departments.
    • Introduced more efficient patterns in the production areas.
    • Increased production on an annual basis.
    • Reduced crewing in many areas and negotiated redundancy where required.
    • Introduced data capture from the shop floor
    • Responsible for all Industrial Relations, in particular tackling many long standing practices resorting to the Labour Relations Commission where necessary.
    • Introduced new shift patterns and sub-contracted out services where necessary to improve lead-times and customer service.

  • Irish Elsevier Printers Ltd. (Scientific Printers Ltd.), Shannon. Position: Sales Manager/Plant Manager. Staff: 48. Turnover: 2 million.
  • 1985-1987: Sales Manager
    • Totally reorganised sales/marketing function.
    • Achieved 300% increase in sales.
    • Successfully negotiated the largest single colour print order achieved in Ireland in 1987.
  • 1987-1990: Plant Manager
    • Achieved a 20% improvement in scheduled deliveries.
    • Increased quality and decreased number of complaints.
    • Reduced wages/salaries ratio by 10%
    • Increased output and decreased numbers in factory
    • Responsible for all Personnel and HR issues.
    • Duties included recruitment, training and motivation of staff.
