IT Systems Outage: Staff & Students Update

National College of Ireland’s IT Team continue to work to restore IT services impacted by the recent malware attack. The college appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all students and staff during this challenging time.

  • The IT team require that all students and staff change their College Password today. Even if you have done this recently, we now need you to do it again. We recognise this may be inconvenient, especially for those who have already recently reset their passwords, it is, unfortunately, a step we will need you to repeat as we work through restoring services. Please follow the steps in this article only when changing your password: How do I change my NCI Student password?
  • Access to Moodle 2020 and Moodle 2019 is restored. However, there may be a 60-second delay on sign in, please be patient the system will allow you access.
  • Access to many of the Library’s Online Journals and Databases has been restored. Students and staff are required to change their passwords (step 1 above) before you access these services for the first time.
  • Access to Microsoft Teams and Office365 platform is restored.

If any student or staff member has any difficulties, please log a ticket on the IT Help Centre and a member of the IT Team will respond.

There are no IT services on campus, with study spaces and the library click and collect services unavailable.

The IT team continue to work to restore services and will issue updates as services are restored. It is important, in the meantime, to be vigilant. If you receive any suspicious emails, delete immediately: do not forward to anyone, do not click on any links or download any files. If in doubt, delete the email.
