IT Services

In this section students will find a summary of the IT services available to registered students of NCI, together with guides and how-to videos all designed to help students navigate their way around available IT Services.

To access student IT services in NCI, it is mandatory that you are a fully registered student of the college (Please note it takes approximately 8 hours after registration is complete before IT accounts are created). All queries in relation to your student registration must be addressed directly to Admissions Office; by email admissions@ncirl.ie.

Should you have any difficulties please do not hesitate to contact our IT Support Desk for assistance by logging a call on NCI360. To assist IT Support in responding to your query as quickly as possible, please provide the following information in your ticket:

  • Your name and student ID number.
  • Your NCI email and mobile phone number should we need to speak with you directly.
  • Detailed description of the problem being encountered.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I change my password?

Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a service introduced by the college that enables students who have forgotten their password to reset their password themselves without the need to contact the IT Help Desk. This service is available to all students who have pre-registered with SSPR any time, from any device anywhere.

Students can access SSPR using one of the following options:
- Open a web browser and go to https://password.ncirl.ie and click the Register Button.
- Open a web browser and go to Office365 https://login.microsoftonline.com once you login you’ll be asked to register your details.

Where is the IT Support office?

The student IT Support desk is located on the 1st floor, room 1:04.

IT Support does not provide support for issues with individual laptops or phones.

How can I access IT support?

There are lots of ways you can contact the IT Support Desk for assistance:

Use NCI360 to log a case with IT Support
Email itsupport@ncirl.ie
Phone the helpdesk from a courtesy phone located on the corridors or in the library (dial 2)
Use the on-campus telephone at reception (dial 111).
Using an external phone, dial +353 (01) 4498667 or +353 (01) 4498671
Visit the IT Support Office located on the 1st floor - opposite Theatre 1

Connecting to eduroam - student wi-fi service.

As a registered student of NCI you can connect your personal devices, laptops, smartphones and tablets to the eduroam wifi service in the college.

When connecting to eduroam students will be prompted to enter "Username" and "Password". When prompted to enter Username always use the format shown in the example below:


Username: x1234567@student.ncirl.ie


Password: xxxxxxxx

How to use your student email account

Microsoft Outlook (OWA) is the college's platform of choice to provide every student with an email account. Your college email account is the account the college will use to communicate with you during your time as a student of NCI.

You can access your student email account online via outlook.office.com/owa.

You will be prompted for your student username and password. Your student username is x followed by your student number and @student.ncirl.ie eg: x1234567@student.ncirl.ie.
