Position: ELI Coordinator – Early Learning Initiative

Reporting to: Assistant Director of the Early Learning Initiative

Purpose of Position: To develop, organise and run early year’s events and Parent and Toddler Groups

Stakeholders in the local community, including parents, children and practitioners


Key Responsibilities:
To develop, organise and run the Early Learning Initiative’s programmes and workshops involving parents and children including
Parent Toddler Groups
Creative Events
Early Years Events
Story Telling Sessions
Mam and Baby Fitness programmes
Organise events for programme families during school holidays
To develop and deliver professional development opportunities for Home Visiting and early years services
Liaise with PHN, Tusla, Maternity Hospitals, PCHP, CES, Pobal and other statutory and voluntary bodies around the development of the ELI Programmes and opportunities for shared learning and collaboration
To manage the budget and accounts for ELI programmes within the ABC/NCI/Early Learning Initiative framework and the requirements of funding bodies
Prepare and maintain records, reports and/or evaluation data on the programmes and participating professionals, children and families
Provide information as required to the ABC Director and NCI’s Finance Department for ABC returns and budgets to Pobal and CES
Participate in research activities
• Any other duties as assigned by the ABC/ELI Director

Skills and Experience required:
Relevant 3rd level qualification
Relevant experience of working with children, young people, families and statutory agencies,
Experience in developing and delivering relevant professional development programmes
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
Ability to develop and support innovative ideas and approaches;
Ability to work with marginalised families and have an understanding of the issues of marginalisation
Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of College personnel, statutory, community and corporate stakeholders and other outside individuals/organisations
Flexible approach to work as evening and weekend work may be required
Ability to operate as a team player in a cross disciplinary, integrated team, sharing roles and responsibilities
An energetic, confident and pro-active individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent leadership, administrative and organisational skills


Employment conditions:

Salary: €30,450 - €42,632 (Administrator Salary Band)

Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract subject to ongoing funding

Annual Leave: 24 days per annum
