Pre-Arrival Checklist and Getting Started

Want to learn more and get started on your planning now? We think that is a great idea and have created a Pre-Arrival Checklist  to help you on this journey and answer your questions on many specific topics.

Arriving in Dublin

You are required to provide the following documents when arriving at the airport to pass through Immigration Control:

  • Passport
  • Offer letter from NCI
  •  Receipt from NCI indicating you have paid the full tuition fees
  • Medical insurance

 

Obtaining your student Visa (GNIB)

You will need to have the following when renewing your student visa:

  • Passport
  •  A letter from NCI’s International Office stating that you are a registered student and stating the start date and completion date of your course, that you have paid your fees in full
  • Your student ID card
  •  Your medical insurance details which must be issued from an Irish Provider.
  •  A €300 fee (credit/debit card or bank giro available at INIS offices - no cash is accepted)
  • A Bank Statement showing a minimum balance of €3000

 

Re-entry Visas

You must bring along the following documents when applying for Re-Entry visa:

  • Passport
  •  GNIB Card
  •  A re-entry Visa letter issued by the NCI International Office which details your attendance level.
  • 2 passport-sized photographs
  •  A completed application form, which you will get in the INIS office
  •  A Bank Draft or Postal Order in the amount of €100 (for multiple re-entry visas) or €60 (for single re-entry visas)

 

Opening a Bank Account

You will need to open a bank account when you arrive. You must have your permanent address (not hostel / hotel) for the following document.

  •  Passport
  •  Letter from NCI (The International Office will provide this letter)
  •  NCI Student Card 

 

Renewing your student Visa (GNIB)

You will need to have the following when renewing your student visa:

  • Passport
  •  A letter from NCI’s International Office stating that you are a registered student and stating the start date and completion date of your course, that you have paid your fees in full and details on your attendance, which must be over 80%
  • Your student ID card
  •  Your medical insurance details which must be issued from an Irish Provider.
  •  A €300 fee (credit/debit card or bank giro available at INIS offices - no cash is accepted)
