NCI welcomes Rebecca Moore as Director of the Early Learning Initiative

Rebecca Moore has commenced as Director of the Early Learning Initiative at National College of Ireland, taking up the reins from Dr Josephine Bleach, who is retiring this year.

Rebecca brings over 20 years of leadership experience in Ireland’s social care sector, having worked with organisations including Sophia Housing, Peter McVerry Trust, Barnardos, Tusla’s Prevention, Partnership and Family Support programme, and Focus Ireland.

She has extensive expertise in supporting children, young people, and families in disadvantaged communities, with a strong focus on prevention and early intervention, trauma-informed care, and community development. Rebecca also has significant experience in programme implementation, staff leadership, and interagency collaboration. She holds a BSc in Social Sciences and an MSc in Human Resource Management from UCD, as well as a Certificate in Housing Management from NCI.

Commenting on her acceptance of the role, Rebecca said: "Having worked for many years in the area of PEI (Prevention and Early Intervention) and in close collaboration with colleagues from NCI, I am thrilled to be now joining the ELI team! I am delighted to be coming on board to an organisation that is progressive, passionate, community facing and very much putting the needs of children and families at the heart of everything it does.”
