About Janice

Janice Massala studied at National College of Ireland between 2009 and 2014, completing a Higher Certificate in Business, a BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management, and a Master’s in Human Resource Management. 

From early in her time at NCI, Janice stood out for her willingness to engage. With support from her lecturers, she came to recognise her outspokenness as a strength and not a negative quality. Opportunities such as being nominated as a class representative and later becoming a peer mentor helped her build confidence and develop a passion for supporting others through their education.

Building Confidence Through Education

Janice's experience at NCI played a central role in shaping both her career and personal development. Through her studies, she developed strong foundations in people management, leadership and organisational behaviour while also strengthening her communication skills, adaptability and confidence in a variety of environments. Her time at NCI also reinforced a core belief that continues to guide her today:

"Your background does not define your future - your mindset, work ethic, and willingness to learn do."

The combination of academic knowledge and real-life experience, along with opportunities to support and mentor others, helped Janice discover not only her professional direction but also her leadership style.

A Career in Global Leadership

Janice is currently working with LEI Worldwide, where she combines her role as HR Business Partner with responsibilities as Global Head of Customer Success, working across APAC, EMEA and AMER regions. 

In this dual role, she leads strategic HR initiatives while also driving customer success globally focusing on organisational development, employee engagement, talent management and building strong client relationships. 

Reflecting on her journey, Janice is most proud not only of her own progression, but of her ability to support others along the way. 

“Success means more when you can open doors for others as you move forward.”

She remains passionate about mentoring students and professionals, delivering career development workshops, and helping others access opportunities through education.

Reflecting on NCI at 75

Looking back as NCI celebrates its 75th anniversary, Janice sees the College as a place defined by opportunity, inclusion and progress. For her, it was not just a place of learning, but one that shaped her confidence, built lifelong connections, and instilled a belief in her own potential. 

Her experience of learning alongside people from diverse backgrounds also helped shape her leadership philosophy, one rooted in understanding others, active listening, and bringing out the best in people. 

Janice’s story is one of growth, confidence and purpose, a powerful reminder that education can open doors, build belief, and create opportunities not only for personal success, but for supporting others along the way.
