Summer Programmes 2021

STEM Play and Learn Summer Programme 

A fun, learning through play opportunity for children aged 4-6 years living in Dublin’s docklands and north-east inner city. It aims to support children's early literacy, numeracy, language and social emotional development. Children and parents are also introduced to STEM learning through an innovative Lego activity. The programme involves an online home visit and follow up call each week, for 4-6 weeks during July and August. Families will be provided with the books and learning materials to participate. Days and time will be agreed with families in advance. Places are not guaranteed.

Discover University

A summer programme that aims to give young people aged 14-17 from the Dublin's inner city the opportunity to experience a taste of life at university through fun and exciting projects and workshops. This year, the programme will run ONLINE from Monday 21st June - Friday 25th June 2021, from 12-4pm on Zoom, with an outdoor face-to-face activity on Saturday June 26th. Young people can apply to one of our four subjects to study on the programme: Business, Computing, Early Childhood Education and Care or Psychology.

STEM

Two STEM events will take place in the month of July. Tuesday the 20th of July for children aged between 9-12 years. The children will have the opportunity to explore microscopes and engage in fun activities. The second event will take place Wednesday the 21st July for children aged between 6-8 years with the opportunity to engage in activities that will focus with 3D printing. Limited places available. I Heart NCI

The ‘I HEART NCI’ Project is a call out to all in NCI and the community to help us yarn-bomb NCI. To take part, knit, crochet, or sew a rainbow heart and send it in. Deadline for submission 31st July 2021. For more info/request a craft pack email eli@ncirl.ie subject #I Heart NCI

0-2 Programme 

Our 0-2 Home Visiting Programme understand how hard it has been for Parents over the last year. Our aim over summer is to enroll more families and offer parents outdoor visits,  meeting two or more families for a walk and talk morning. Monday 16th August: Teddy Bear’s Picnic with Storytime and songs in Merrion Square Park Dublin 2

Monday 23rd August: Music Monday: Song time with musical instruments for the children to use in Marino Crescent Park, Dublin 3

Suitable for ages 3 months- 8 months old (or pre-mobile)

Thursdays: 5-week Outdoor Fitness for Mams*booking essential & weather permitting

Starts Thursday 1st July at 10am-11am for 5 weeks consecutively until Thursday 29th July at Ringsend Park. Led by fitness trainer Aoife

Our Summer Programme returns this July and August with Out & About on selected Mondays

Outdoor sessions happening North & Southside; suitable for children age 0-5 years

Park sessions involve child-friendly activities including Teddy Bears’ picnic, nature hunt

All sessions start at 10.30am

Weather permitting- we recommend dressing for all weather possibilities.
