Dedicated lecturer with 17 years of academic experience and 12 years in the IT industry, specialising in emerging technologies, data analytics, and AI. Currently serving as Programme Director (MSc Data Analytics and MSc AI for Business) and member of the Governing Body, I bring strong academic leadership alongside extensive industry engagement.
I have successfully collaborated with over 40 companies through Enterprise Ireland Innovation Vouchers and an Innovation Partnership, strengthening links between academia and industry. My work spans global organisations such as Microsoft Research, University of Calgary, and the British Council, as well as SMEs and startups. I have mentored students in innovation and entrepreneurship, contributing to the development of spinouts and applied research outcomes.
My contributions have been recognised through a KTI special commendation for Knowledge Transfer Achiever of the Year (2019) and the NCI President’s Award for Excellence in Research. I aspire to leverage AI and machine learning to enhance online learning and foster prosocial behaviour.
