How to Apply

Applying for a course with NCI is very simple but first we need to identify what type of course you are hoping to study. Below are some of the options available to you.

Undergraduate Courses

If you are a Leaving Certificate student or LCVP student you will need to apply for your chosen course through the CAO. Find out more information about applying through the CAO or view our courses available through the CAO .

Postgraduate Courses

If you have a bachelor's degree and want to progress your qualifications to a higher diploma or a level 9 degree you are considering postgraduate study. You can apply for postgraduate courses at NCI online or through the post. Find out more about applying for your chosen course.

International Students

International students looking to study at National College of Ireland have a separate application process. Find out more about the application process and learn about life at NCI.

Part-time Courses

There are a number of courses at National College of Ireland that you can study on a part-time basis, many of which take place in the evening. For these courses you can apply online or through the post. Find out more about applying for your chosen course or browse through our part-time courses.

Don't meet the academic requirements for the course

If you don't meet the entry requirements for your chosen course but have other significant qualifications or experience in the area, you can apply through our Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning scheme. This scheme looks at applicants on an individual basis in terms of your knowledge of the area. Find out more information on our RPEL scheme.

Free Courses for Jobseekers

Through government initiatives such as Springboard and Momentum Skills, National College of Ireland are able to offer free places on a select few courses to jobseekers.
