Code4Europe
Code4Europe – Empowering the new generation of Young Digital Europeans is an EU-funded project launched in 2024 and funded by the European Commission through the Digital Europe Programme under the DIGITAL-2023-SKILLS-04-BOOSTINGDIGIT call. The project aims to expand and enhance digital education across Europe, building on the success of EU Code Week. The mission of Code4Europe is to inspire and empower the next generation of digitally-savvy Europeans by promoting digital literacy and coding skills and encouraging more young people to pursue opportunities in the digital sector.
National College of Ireland (NCI) is a partner in the Code4Europe project, contributing to a pan-European collaboration to strengthen digital skills, broaden participation in digital education, and address Europe’s digital skills gap.
About EU Code Week
EU Code Week is an international grassroots initiative that celebrates creativity, problem-solving and collaboration through programming and other technology-related activities. It aims to make coding and digital skills more accessible and encourage people of all abilities to engage with programming and computational thinking. Supported by the European Commission, EU Code Week encourages participation from everyone, with a strong focus on schools.
Code4Europe builds on the established EU Code Week community, supporting its continued development and expanding opportunities for young people across Europe to engage with digital technologies.
