Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background:

Hi there, I'm Alwyn. I hold an MSc in Finance and currently work in the Private Equity domain. Along with my master’s, I also completed a bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate diploma. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, travelling, and discovering new flavours—whether it's street food or a new café. I'm passionate about building a career I can be proud of when I look back one day, and I believe in always finding ways to give back to society.

What made you choose Ireland as a place to study and work?

Honestly, it was a bit of destiny. Ireland wasn’t initially my top choice, but when I received a scholarship offer from NCI, I began researching the country. I found that the cost of pursuing a master's here was quite reasonable compared to other options, so I decided to take the leap. Looking back now, I have absolutely no regrets—it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

I love the exposure to private market data that isn’t easily accessible to the public. But what stands out even more is learning from senior managers—not just about finance, but about communication, presentation, and how to make yourself seen and heard in a professional setting. These soft skills are invaluable.

What's your most memorable experience at NCI?

Making friends, without a doubt. It’s important to have that one dependable friend during your student life—someone who’s got your back. I also really enjoyed Mr. Joe’s classes—each lecture was not just informative but genuinely engaging and insightful.
