Talha is a qualified ACCA professional with over seven years of experience in finance and currently works as a Billing and Revenue Analyst at Cubic³. He chose Ireland to develop his career and explore opportunities within the European market and obtained a Masters in Accounting and Finance from NCI.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
I’m a qualified ACCA currently working in Cubic³ as a Revenue Analyst with over 7 years of experience within Finance
What made you choose Ireland as a place you wanted to work?
Having a Finance background, Ireland should be your preferred option looking at the market, though its a bit competitive but its really good for someone who carries reasonable experience in finance and wants to explore the European market.
What was your most memorable experience from your time at NCI?
Well, there were a couple.
Firstly, the diversity with students from so many different backgrounds, working with them on different projects, I believe that stood out for me.
Secondly, the internship opportunity that i got as a Lab Assistant at NCI, it complemented by studies and experience.
How did you hear about your role? (Was it a jobsite, a contact, a recruitment agency, some you met at a careers event etc?)
Well, i applied directly on the company website and prepared for the interview with NCI careers team.
What did the recruitment and selection process involve and how did you prepare for it?
The NCI careers team helped me with the Interview preparation.
The recruitment process was not that difficult, we had 3 rounds of interview. Most of the interviews were based on competency based questions.
Can you describe the visa process you underwent? (Did you get Stamp 1G or Critical Skills – has that changed since joining etc)
Well, i applied for stamp 1-G after my graduation. The process was quite straightforward which involved uploading your degree, health insurance and your stamp-2. I got the approval with in a month and started my job here at Eir.
