Entry Requirements

 

Undergraduate courses

Qualification Leads to entry into
 Successful completion of the SPM (Malaysia Certificate of Education)
(If students have completed SPM + Matrikulasi please see below) 
 Foundation course (please contact us for your options)
Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) – The Malaysia Higher School Certificate with grades A-D on a subject-by-subject basis  Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) Senior Middle Level with a minimum of 60% in more than two subject Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Matrikulasi (Matriculation Certificate) GPA 2.0 or above depending on subject Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
2 year Certificate with a minimum mark of 60% or 2.6/4.0 GPA Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
3 year Diploma with a minimum mark of 65% or 2.8/4.0 GPA Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
4 year Advanced Diploma with a minimum mark of 60% or 2.6/4.0 GPA Year 2 of Business Bachelor degrees or Year 3 of Computing Bachelor degrees (if subjects closely match)
2 year DVM (Diploma Vokasional Malaysia) (Malaysia Vocational Diploma) with a minimum mark of 60% or 2.6/4.0 GPA Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Successful completion of 1 year Bachelor Degree in Malaysia with GPA 3.0 or above Year 1 of Bachelor degrees  
A recognised International Foundation course from an Irish/UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated Irish/UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%  Year 1 of Bachelor degrees  

 

Entry onto Postgraduate courses

If you are applying for a Masters (e.g. MA, MSc) course at NCI, you will be required to meet the English Language Requirements and will typically have one of the following qualifications:

  • Malaysian Bachelors degree from a recognized institution with an award of 2.2 or higher, depending on the subject area.
