About Mark
Mark Kavanagh is a graduate of the BA (Hons) in Marketing Practice at National College of Ireland, graduating in 2020. Originally from Wexford, Mark developed his marketing expertise through this undergraduate programme which is designed to combine academic learning with real‑world business experience, encouraging students to think creatively and bring ideas to life.
A key part of this marketing degree involves developing and applying business concepts in a practical setting, and it was this hands‑on approach that helped shape Mark’s entrepreneurial mindset. Inspired by both his studies and his local roots, he went on to establish Wexbury Spirits, an Irish beverage company producing fruit‑infused liqueurs, most notably its signature Strawberry Cream Liqueur, a product closely tied to Wexford’s long association with strawberries.
From Idea to Enterprise
Following his studies, Mark transformed his interest in marketing and business development into a growing brand, using creativity and storytelling to build visibility for Wexbury Spirits. From local markets to large‑scale events, the business quickly gained recognition for its distinctive identity and innovative approach to promotion.
His journey reflects the applied nature of the Marketing Practice degree, taking ideas from concept through to execution, and developing the confidence and skills needed to build something meaningful. By combining a strong marketing foundation with local insight and ambition, Mark has successfully turned an idea into a thriving business.
Mark’s story highlights how practical learning, creativity and an entrepreneurial mindset can come together to turn ideas into successful ventures.
