An innovative assessment structure is in place which promotes both the understanding of academic principles and the application of skill. Assessment is by means of skills assessments, projects and team presentations.

The programme is taught in a blended format, with evening classes taking place in our live, virtual classroom and Saturday workshops taking place on campus in the IFSC.

Upon successful completion of the Certificate, there are only two more modules to complete for achievement of the Diploma in Professional Learning & Organisational Development/

This part-time course is suitable for those who are working in HR or for those with experience in some aspects of Human Resources who wish to update their skills and further their career. Given the importance of the issues, the course will also appeal to those working at line manager level or those running a small business with no HR unit in place.

Graduates will receive a Level 7 QQI Certificate in Professional Learning & Organisational Development. The course leads to CIPD qualification and Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). A separate membership fee (currently stg£140, but subject to revision) should be paid directly to CIPD to gain student membership.

This programme is subject to QQI and CIPD approval.

This course is designed to appeal to those at work or seeking to make a career change towards training and development. There are no specific academic requirements with applicants considered based on relevant work and other experience.

All students applying to NCI must have access to a laptop that will allow them to attend classes online and, where relevant, to participate in on-campus learning.

The minimal suitable configuration is:

• Intel 7th (or higher) generation processors (Core i-3, ii-5, -7,i-9-7x)
• or AMD Ryzen 3rd generation processors, running at 2.0GHz and above (Intel Atom/Celeron or AMD Athlon/Sempron Processors may cost less, but may not meet your requirements)

Random Access Memory (RAM):
8 GB minimum

Solid State Drive (SSD) Capacity:
256 GB minimum

Wireless Card:
802.11 a/b/g/n compliant with Bluetooth Capability (incompatibilities have been noted with the Qualcomm Atheros Wireless Adapters and software device drivers)

Graphics Card:
Direct X9 or later

Supported Operating Systems:
Windows 10 Home/Pro

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure their computer is functioning correctly and that they have full administrator rights. NCI cannot provide support for these personal devices.

A Laptop Loan Scheme is available for eligible students to assist them in completing their chosen course.

Blended Schedule:

2 evenings a week 18.30 - 22.00 plus 5 on-campus Saturdays 09.30 - 17.30.

This programme is offered in Blended mode consisting of live, virtual classroom on 2 nights per week plus occasional Saturdays. There are 5 on-campus Saturdays during the programme.

Please note that exams can be scheduled during the morning, afternoon or evening Monday to Saturday.

Blended (Online with some face-to-face classes). Evening weekdays online and some Saturdays on campus.
