National College of Ireland is delighted to host Senator Malcolm Byrne, as he presents 'Toward a Digital Euro', featuring a keynote address by Fabio Panetta, Executive Board Member of the European Central Bank (ECB) on Monday 16th May, 9.15am live and in-person at our IFSC campus on Mayor Street. This event will also be livestreamed - details below.
It is the intention of the ECB to introduce a Digital Euro: joining Dr Panetta for a panel discussion on how and when this will happen and what impact it will have on both businesses and consumers, will be: Minister Paschal Donohoe, President of EuroGroup; Philip Lane, Executive Board Member, European Central Bank; Mairéad McGuinness, EU Financial Services Commissioner; and Lisa Simpson, Director, EMEA Blockchain Lab, Deloitte.
Closing out the event, we will hear from Michael McGrath, Minster for Public Expenditure and Reform, as well as from some NCI students, currently studying Finance and Blockchain.
