Early Learning Initiative

Our Programmes

Working in partnership with Government and local communities, ELI has developed a range of innovative programmes to improve the educational aspirations and outcomes of children and young people. It has grown from 400 participants (children, parents and professionals) to 14,000+ a year and moved beyond its initial Dublin Docklands catchment area to supporting other communities across the country.

Dublin's Inner - City Programmes

The Early Learning Initiative runs a number of programmes in Dublin’s Inner City for children and parents supporting education at pre-school right up to third-level education.

Area-Based Childhood (ABC) Programme

The Area Based Childhood (ABC) Programme is a national Prevention and Early Intervention (PEIN) Programme funded by the Department of Children, Disability, Equality, Integration and Youth (DCDEIY), delivered through the Prevention Partnership and Family Support Programme (PPFS) within Tusla.

National Centre

From the beginning, NCI envisaged ELI acting as a Centre of Excellence from which other communities and governments, nationally and internationally, could learn how to improve the educational and life chances of children and their families across Ireland and further afield.
