Purpose of Position:

National College of Ireland is seeking to appoint an Academic Partnerships Manager to be responsible for coordinating, managing and monitoring NCI’s academic collaborative partner activities in Ireland, through the Erasmus+ programme, and internationally.

This is a new post created to directly support delivery of NCI’s Erasmus+ commitments, and NCI’s 2022-2027 Strategic Planning commitments. 

The post holder will work with NCI’s Academic Leadership Team and Programme Directors to support negotiations and map academic programmes for exchange and advanced entry students in consultation with partner institutions. The post holder will project manage and ensure delivery of NCI’s Erasmus + programme and Charter commitments. They will also act as a central service between partners institutions and NCI at an institutional level. They will build and maintain a central repository of all NCIs formal academic partnership contracts.  They will provide guidance to NCI’s academic and professional services staff, on existing and proposed partnership opportunities in access, teaching and research.

Key Responsibilities: 

  •  Support Programme Directors to negotiate and map academic programmes for exchange students in consultation with partner institutions. 
  • Support the development and oversight of existing and new academic partnership opportunities at a national, European and International level. 
  • Provide guidance on the development of new transnational programmes and study-abroad opportunities. 
  • Maintain and manage a register of NCI’s academic partnership and collaborative agreements to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Proactively work alongside and provide administrative support to Faculty and Academic Leaders in the identification of new partnership opportunities.
  • Provide strategic oversight and briefings to NCI leaders on incoming and outward partnership delegation meetings and contract negotiations. 
  • Advise and support the work of academic and service leaders to ensure contractual obligations are met in line with NCI, National and Erasmus+ requirements. 
  • Identify and build strong working relationships with counterparts in key institutions nationally, at a European level and internationally.
  • Provide guidance and support to NCI faculty in their capacity as partnership liaison/relationship managers with their counterparts in partner institutions at a programme level. 
  • Identify, promote and disseminate relevant opportunities under the Erasmus+ programme to students and staff.
  • Establish and manage all necessary documentation for student and staff mobility.
  • Submit grant requests for staff and student funding to Erasmus+.
  • Establish and maintain the NCI Academic Partnerships Website and assist with marketing of the Erasmus+ programme and partnership activities through participation at college open days, education fairs, seminars, social media promotion and other initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements of the ERASMUS+ programme, including accurate recording of exchange partnership agreements, student exchanges, work placements and staff mobility and to manage the collation and dissemination of data and documents for audits by ERASMUS+.
  • Provide an annual report on the effectiveness and impact of NCI’s academic Partnerships for consideration by the NCI Executive Group.
  • Any other duties required by the Registrar which are consistent with the grade of the position. 

Key Attributes: 

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Erasmus+, international or academic partners institutions in Ireland. 
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of operational, contract and/or project management. 
  • Experience of operating policy and practice that complies and maps against national and/or European standards and guidelines. 
  • Experience of committee servicing and report writing. 
  • Willingness to travel in Ireland and overseas. 
  • High degree of organisational ability and attention to detail, including maintaining accurate database records, report writing and budget preparation and control.
  • Proven ability to work independently, without close supervision, and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to establish good working relationships with staff at all levels of an organisation both internally and externally

€53,836 - €74,028 (Manager Salary Band)

Shortlisting

HR draft up the shortlisting documents and provide the initial screening to determine if a person meets the essential criteria of the competition. A shortlisting panel is generally made up of two senior grade staff members from the relevant department for which the role is being recruited.

Where you have been successfully shortlisted for a post, each interview panel member will be furnished with a copy of the relevant information of those who will be attending interview in order that they can review applications in advance of the interview process.
