Big award for small Westmeath school

Emper NS received an award from the National Parents Council at the annual Primary Innovation Awards held at National College of Ireland.


July saw extensive coverage of the death of Brian O’Callaghan-Westropp, an MBA student at NCI, including a statement of condolences from Dr Colette Darcy, Dean of the School of Business. Also reported was the GoFundMe page set up by his classmates to honour his memory, raising over €6000 to assist with medical treatment for his widow, who suffered serious burns in the Greek wildfire that devastated the town in which they were honeymooning. Sincere sympathy to Brian’s family and friends. The college is offering support to staff and students affected by his death.
