Student Survey 2022 Results Exceed Expectations

Infographic showing Student Survey 2022 Results

NCI had a 26% response rate in the 2022 national student survey, and we are grateful to students who took the time to answer the 67 survey questions about their learning experiences with NCI. We are just below the 2022 national average response rate of 27.8%.

The national survey was open to all first and final year undergraduate students and all postgraduate students. The responses gave the College invaluable information on what students are thinking and feeling about their courses and about how NCI supports them to achieve their learning goals. The high-level results are available to view in a handy infographic. Students and staff members can ask questions about this information by emailing QIE@ncirl.ie.

The Director of Quality and Institutional Effectiveness, Patricia Maguire, said:

"It's so important that we get feedback from students on their experiences with NCI, so that the staff here can zone in to better understand the issues that are being raised and figure out what needs to be done to make improvements. These might be at College level overall, or within specific programmes, or in certain support areas. The national survey is ideal because we know that the questions have been well designed and that all the other colleges and universities are also using it. This year's response rate - 26% - is good, but we want it to be higher again in 2023 so that we can beat the national average".

A campaign was run in collaboration with NCISU during the month of March to encourage students to complete the survey with prize winners selected on a weekly basis. The winners were shared on NCI's social media channels:
