Entry Requirements

 

Undergraduate

 

Qualification Leads to entry into
Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) – The Malaysia Higher School Certificate with grades A-D on a subject-by-subject basis 
Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) Senior Middle Level with a minimum of 60% in more than two subject
Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Polytechnic Diploma (3 year post SPM/SPMV)  Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Polytechnic Technician Certificate with high grades  Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Matrikulasi (Matriculation Certificate) GPA 2.0 or above depending on subject Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
College Diploma/Certificate (2/3 year post SPM) with high grades  Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
Tunku Abdul Rahman College Certificate (2 year post SPM)  Year 1 of Bachelor degrees 
1 year Bachelor Degree in Malaysia with GPA 3.0 or above Year 1 of Bachelor degrees  
A recognised International Foundation course from an Irish/UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated Irish/UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%  Year 1 of Bachelor degrees  
Successful completion of 1 year at a recognised university in Malaysia with a good grade   Year 1 of Bachelor degrees  
A Levels or International Baccalaureate   Year 1 of Bachelor degrees  
Institut Teknologi MARA Diploma (3 year post SMP/STPM) with GPA 2.8 or above   Possibly year 2 of Bachelor degrees 
Tunku Abdul Rahman College Diploma (3 year post STPM)   Possibly year 3 of Bachelor degrees  

 

Entry onto Postgraduate programmes

If you are applying for a Masters (e.g. MA, MSc, MBA) programme at NCI, you will be required to meet the English Language Requirements and will typically have one of the following qualifications:

  • Malaysian Bachelors degree from a recognized institution with an award of 2.2 or higher, depending on subject area  
  • Applicants with STPM College Diploma plus three to five years relevant work experience may also be considered on an individual basis for some Masters programmes
