Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background:

I completed my MSc in International Business at the National College of Ireland in 2023. Coming from a diverse academic and professional background, I’ve always been passionate about understanding how businesses operate across cultures and markets. Studying at NCI gave me the chance to broaden my global perspective, sharpen my skills, and connect with people from different parts of the world. Since graduating, I’ve been working with Flutter Entertainment in brand strategy, where I focus on building strong customer connections and driving growth in international markets.

How did you hear about your role ?

I came across this role on LinkedIn, and it stood out to me because it perfectly aligned with my passion for international business and brand strategy. The opportunity to work in a global environment where I could apply my skills and continue learning made it an easy choice to pursue.

What did the recruitment process involve and how did you prepare for it ?

The recruitment and selection process was quite intense and thorough, consisting of four rounds. It began with an initial screening, followed by a session where we discussed different products and engaged in brainstorming. After that, there was a group discussion to test collaboration and problem-solving, and finally, an individual personal interview. It was a well-rounded process that tested us holistically our knowledge, creativity, teamwork, and personal drive. To prepare, I focused on researching the company and its brands, practicing case-style questions, and sharpening my communication skills through mock interviews and group discussions, which helped me approach each stage with confidence.

What has been the most challenging part of your graduate journey ?

most challenging part of my graduate journey was adapting to a highly diverse, international environment. Working with people from different cultures pushed me out of my comfort zone but helped me grow and develop a strong global mindset.

What is a typical day like in your current role ?

A typical day at Flutter, working in brand strategy for Paddy Power, is a mix of fast-paced problem-solving and creative thinking. I start by catching up on industry news and trends to see what’s shaping the market. Then it’s a mix of research, brainstorming, and juggling multiple deadlines. Collaboration is a big part of the day touching base with teams across product, tech, CRM, content, creative marketing, and project management to make sure campaigns are on point, innovative, and delivered on time. No two days are the same, which keeps the role exciting and constantly challenging.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
The best part of my role is that no day feels like a typical Monday! I get to research, stay ahead of trends, and apply creative thinking, so it’s never boring. On top of that, the team is fun and supportive, making every project a rewarding experience.

Can you describe the visa process you underwent ?

After graduating on a Stamp 2, I was fortunate to directly receive a Stamp 1 through company sponsorship, so I didn’t need to go through Stamp 1G. The process was quite smooth most of the paperwork was handled by the company. My main role was connecting them with a lawyer to ensure the documents were in order. Once approved, I received my Stamp 1 within about three weeks.

What was your most memorable experience from your time at NCI ?

My most memorable moment at NCI was working on group projects with classmates from so many different cultures and backgrounds. Each discussion felt like a mini global boardroom, where we learned as much from each other’s perspectives as from the coursework itself. Those experiences not only shaped my understanding of international business but also built friendships and networks that I truly value to this day.
