Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background:

I’m a financial services professional with a background in fintech and payments. I completed my MSc in Fintech at NCI after studying Business Information Systems. I currently work in the asset management industry with a focus on alternative investment funds.

What made you choose Ireland as a place to study and work?

Ireland has a vibrant fintech and financial services ecosystem. The global companies headquartered here, the welcoming environment for international talent, and the strong academic-to-industry pipeline made it a perfect fit.

What was your most memorable experience from your time at NCI?

My most memorable experience was collaborating with a diverse group of classmates on real-world fintech projects – it gave me practical insights and built friendships I still hold today.

How did you hear about your role?

I found the opportunity through a combination of LinkedIn job alerts and recruitment agencies that specialize in financial services. Staying connected with career events at NCI also helped.

What did the recruitment and selection process involve and how did you prepare for it?

The process involved an initial screening call, followed by a technical interview and a final round focused on cultural fit. I prepared by reviewing the company’s values, refining my CV, and practicing situational and competency-based questions.

What is a typical day like in your current role?

My day involves reviewing and validating fund valuations, collaborating with internal teams and clients, and resolving any exceptions or escalations. It’s a blend of analytical work and stakeholder communication.


What do you like most about working in your current role or profession?

I enjoy the dynamic nature of the work, the exposure to global markets, and the opportunity to learn continuously about different investment strategies and financial instruments.


What has been the most challenging part of your graduate journey?

Navigating the job market post-graduation during a competitive period was tough. Finding the right fit while developing relevant skills took time and persistence, but it was worth it.
