Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background:

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Broadcasting from TUD and a First Class Honours Masters in Marketing from NCI. I began my career in Nigeria, working in film distribution at FilmOne Entertainment, where I worked on theatrical and non-theatrical accounts -including the Disney account which sparked my interest in marketing and media planning, which led me to pursue further studies at NCI. Since completing my Masters, I’ve worked across roles such as Client Associate at Spark Foundry and now as an Account Manager at Dentsu, where I work closely with clients to deliver effective media plans and rationales.

How did you hear about your role ?

My first role after NCI was at Spark Foundry, and I actually met with some people from the team during one of NCI’s career events. That event gave me an insight into the Irish media industry and the roles available within the company.

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

I enjoy the balance between data and creativity. Every campaign is different . I work with a variety of clients which means there’s always something new to learn. I love that no days are the same.

What did the recruitment process involve and how did you prepare for it ?

It was fairly straightforward: an initial screening, an interview with the National Sales Manager, and a final round with the Director. I treat interviews as opportunities to see where I stand and what the market looks like.

What is a typical day like in your current role ?

As an Account Manager, I work with internal teams from briefing to the execution of campaigns in order to develop media plans that aligns with the clients objectives and expectations.

What has been the most challenging part of your graduate journey ?

Getting my foot into the door was challenging because of how competitive the job market is. I made the effort to attend career events, update my CV, and network and eventually, the right opportunity came along.

What’s your most memorable experience at NCI?

The most memorable part of my time at NCI was how my hard work paid off. It taught me the value of discipline and consistency. Graduating with a First-Class Honours and receiving the Dean’s Award was a proud moment for me.

Top 3 tips for students and graduates entering the Irish job market:
