Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background:

I completed my MSc in Management from NCI and currently work as a Program Manager at Workday Ireland. I bring over 14 years of experience across various industries, with a strong focus on client-facing roles since the start of my career.

What made you choose Ireland as a place to study and work?

The culture, welcoming people, and abundant job opportunities attracted me to Ireland. The visa process was straightforward, and there’s great flexibility to choose your industry and career path.

How did you hear about your role ?

I found all my roles through job sites initially. Over time, I built a network of contacts that helped me grow and advance in my career

What did the recruitment process involve and how did you prepare for it ?

I focused on aligning my skills and experience with the job role, tailoring my CV as I learned at NCI. The process included four stages: Screening, Recruiter Interview, Technical Round, and Hiring Manager Interview—all centred around the role and company culture.

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

I enjoy the hybrid work model, working with diverse teams, continuous learning opportunities, and a clear path for career progression.

Can you describe the visa process you underwent ?

I first received Stamp 1G after completing my course, renewed annually. After 1.5 years, I secured company sponsorship and moved to the Critical Skills Stamp 1. Two years later, I transitioned to Stamp 4 and no longer require sponsorship.

What is a typical day like in your current role ?

I manage Workday AI implementation projects for global clients, coordinating with clients and internal teams to ensure timely and budget-aligned delivery.

What’s your most memorable experience at NCI?

The support from the faculty, especially during the COVID period, was remarkable. My project supervisor went above and beyond to guide us, making the faculty the most memorable part of my time at NCI.

What has been the most challenging part of your graduate journey ?

Securing a company willing to sponsor was challenging. It took multiple rejections before landing my first success—patience and persistence were key.

Top 3 tips for students and graduates entering the Irish job market:

  • Identify the role and industry you want to pursue, even if it differs from your previous experience. Do not randomly apply.
  • Shortlist the top three companies you'd like to work for.
  • Apply to relevant vacancies in those companies by tailoring your CV to each role and, if possible, leveraging an employee referral to strengthen your application.
